Virtually everyone knows of Robin Hood who, along with his loyal band of men, inhabited Sherwood Forest. Two of the more famous of his followers were the robust Friar Tuck and the towering Little John. The love of Robin's life was the beautiful Maid Marian. In 1938, the excitement of Sherwood Forest thrilled American moviegoers as The Adventures of Robin Hood came to the silver screen.

Erich Wolfgang Komgold composed the musical score for this film which was only one of a number of famous movies for which he provided the music. Others to his credit were Of Human Bondage; The Prince and the Pauper; Captain Blood; and The Sea Wolf.

My hand painted cachet is one that you'll love in your collection. It pictures Olivia de Haviland and Errol Flynn in their roles as Maid Marian and Robin Hood. Flynn grasps his sword as danger approaches (no doubt the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham and his henchmen), and the beautiful de Haviland apprehensively nestles close to her brave hero for protection.

It pays homage to two great Hollywood stars - Olivia de Haviland and Errol Flynn. It brings to Collins collectors the benevolent outlaw of Sherwood Forest and the leader of his Band of Merry Men.
