There is a sense of life-and death drama in both the well-designed stamp and my hand painted cachet. In the stamp, a mouse crouches below a rocky ledge as a rattlesnake lurks inches away. The action in my cachet, however, takes place on the open Sonoran Desert floor. A cactus mouse has wandered dangerously close to a coiled diamondback which is in the strike position. Perhaps it has just been startled by the passing rodent and will let the small animal pass, or perhaps the rattlesnake will indeed strike. It's an exciting cachet.

My Sonoran Desert cachets are prompting terrific comments from collectors, and I'm very pleased to offer this unusual cover. To achieve a realistic sense of the desert habitat of these animals, I've illustrated several varieties of cactus and other desert plants. In addition to Sonoran vistas I also captured in the hand painted cachets a dazzling sunset (owl), a breaking dawn (mule deer), and a picturesque western sky pastels (tortoise). The stamps in this habitat set of ten are all attractive, and each of the wildlife cachets is very realistic as a result of the hand painting on each and every one of them.

Although the enclosed photos will give you a good idea as to the quality of these cachets, the actual colors are more vivid and lifelike. The copies cannot capture the intricate details and artistic craftmanship of the covers. I'm very anxious for you to see them for youself.
