NORTH POLE ELVES

This new cover marks the beginning of my 1999 Reindeer mini-set of four. This stamp was issued in four different colors - green, red, purple, and blue. For each stamp, there is a wonderful Christmas hand painted cachet. Each of the four lighthearted, seasonal scenes is framed by a bell-studded reindeer harness. Not only Collins collectors, but Christmas topicalists as well, will be searching for these covers in the future, so now is the time to secure them before they disappear from my stock.

This cover features a pair of elves playing with one of Santa's reindeer. With pointed ears and up-curved shoes, these North Pole helpers take a break from the toy workshop to frolic in the Arctic snow. One rides while the other runs alongside trying to keep up with the fleet deer. This cachet variety is franked by the green stamp and is canceled at Rudolph, Wisconsin.
