Collins Cover Announcement
SOCIAL SECURITY
The design of this FDC is one that makes it a must for your cover collection. The entire envelope has been made in the image of a Social Security card. It is hand-painted in shades of red, white and blue. When you receive it, look for the First of Issue date -- it is incorporated into the design.
The stamp is unofficially postmarked at New Freedom, PA. I think this is a terrific cancel because Social Security certainly has given a degree of financial freedom that many senior citizens did not have prior to its enactment. The quality of the cancel is very good -- a large magenta bullseye.
This is a unique, one-of-a-kind COLLINS FDC, and I certainly recommend that you acquire one now. Item # I1001 - $7.50.

Lot 10 I1001 — Social Security Act — 8/14/85
The design of this cover is very unusual. The entire envelope has been made in the image of a Social Security card. It is hand-painted in shades of red, white, and blue, and the issue date of August 14, 1985, is incorporated into the account number on the card. The stamp is unofficially postmarked at New Freedom, Pennsylvania — a terrific cancel, I think, because Social Security certainly has provided a degree of financial freedom that many senior citizens did not have prior to its enactment. The quality of the large, magenta bullseye cancel is very good.
