There are tens of thousands of species of amphipods ranging in size from 1 to 10 millimeters. Classified as crustaceans, they have seven pairs of walking legs. Amphipods may dwell in tiny sand burrows or live among sea plants. Although they can swim, a quick flip of the tail is often used to propel them away from danger.

This hand painted cachet joins the previously announced fierce fangtooth, graceful sea cucumber, and menacing anglerfish. Yet to come to complete the series is the octopus-like medusa. The individual watercoloring of each of these covers and the lifelike renditions are making this set of five a group that will certainly enhance your collection.
