Although a gentle and quiet man in real life, Edward G. Robinson is, by far, best remembered for his classic portrayals of tough guys in numerous movies. Two of his best roles that presented this image were the ruthless gang boss Caesar Enrico Bendello in Little Caesar and the cruel captain Wolf Larsen in The Sea Wolf. All together, Robinson appeared in over 90 films including such classics as Double Indemnity, Key Largo, and The Ten Commandments. In 1973, he received an Academy Award for life time achievement in the motion picture industry.

The hand painted cachet features the rough and tough images that Robinson was famous for in his movies. This Collins cover is the sixth in the Legends of Hollywood series that I have produced. It joins Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Humphrey Bogart, Alfred Hitchcock, and James Cagn.ey. This once-ayear series is fast becoming a favorite of many collectors.
