Distinguished Soldiers

General Omar N. Bradley

Collins Cover Announcement

Distinguished Soldiers

Omar N. Bradley

A Missouri native, Bradley was born in 1893 and graduated from West Point in 1915. In 1943 he succeeded General George Patton as commander of the Army's II Corps. On June 6, 1911 he was in command of the 1st Army at the D-Day Landing in Normandy.

During his entire career, General Bradley earned a solid reputation as an infantry commander. He was known as the "GI General" because of his concérn for ordinary soldiers. After the Second World War, he served as Army chief of staff and also as the very first chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

My hand painted cachet shows him conversing with troops under his command. I am pleased to offer this I-DC which pays tribute to a truly distinguished American Soldier - the "GI General" Omar N. Bradley. Item #I3202 - $12.25.
