Sports-related covers are always well received by the collecting community, and this mini-set of four has a lot going for it. First of all, the stamps are quite realistic, colorful, and very well done. Second, the team sports of baseball, football, basketball, and soccer are played by millions of American youngsters, and thus these limited-edition cachets will always be in demand by proud parents as well as participants themselves in their grown-up years. In addition, of course, the covers will also be sought by sports topicalists and most definitely by future Collins collectors, the set of four will be a fine group to own.

The first one up is my youth baseball edition. A limner slides into base safely as the hurled ball flies past the outstretched glove of the fielder. The brightly colored uniforms, the green grass of a baseball field, and the swirling dust resulting from America's youth at play make this hand painted cachet a tribute to all of the countless kids who have played the game.
