In the annals of Greek mythology, Atlas was a member of the Titans — a group of immense deities who ruled the world. In this hand painted cachet, a muscular Atlas strains to boost a globe of this world above his head. In mythology, Atlas was the Greek god who supported the heavens on his shoulders.
