Dramatic and bold hand painted cachets will make these two new Collins First Day Covers excellent additions to any collection. As in the past, high-value Express Mail and Priority Mail covers are anxiously awaited by knowledgeable collectors because history has shown that they are always in demand by those in the hobby. It's especially true that with a Collins cachet, "high value" items are ones you won't want to miss.

It is my prediction that these covers will be immediate sell-outs. Once they are gone from my stock, they will be hard (and costly) to find on the open market. To secure them you must reserve them now, and all orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The images on the new stamps are great. The Washington Monument is silhouetted against a blazing dawn_ and the rising sun casts a golden mirror image in the Reflection Pool on the $12.25 Express Mail stamp. A beautiful blue evening sky provides the setting for the illuminated Capitol Dome on the $3.50 Priority Mail stamp. Both of these large-sized new stamps are quite lovely. I think you will be very pleased with the bold approach that I took with the cachet designs, and there is no doubt that both of these covers will be actively searched for in the years ahead. Dramatic and bold best describes the first day covers for these two high-value stamps that were released on the same day 23 years ago. Collins Express Mail and Priority Mail covers are always eagerly anticipated and well received, and these covers were no exception. The images on the large stamps are dynamic and very attractive. The Washington Monument is silhouetted against a blazing dawn, and the rising sun casts a golden mirror image in the Reflection Pool on the 12.25 Express Mail stamp. A beautiful blue evening sky provides the setting for the illuminated Capitol Dome on the 3.50 Priority Mail stamp. The bold approach that I took with the cachet designs, and the unusual angle of the views were well received. This is the first time these covers have been offered in one of my sales.
