My theme for this hand painted cachet is that affairs of the heart always transcend generational boundaries. To the left, a senior couple return through past decades as they share the message of a love letter written in their youth. To the right, a young lad sheepishly gives a love-struck glance at his young girlfriend as she reads the Valentine verse he has given her. In the center of the cachet, a red rose — long a symbol of romantic feelings — is prominently displayed.

The new fifty-five cent stamp has a bullseye First Day postmark, and it is appropriately canceled on Valentine's Day. A feel-good cover for collectors of all ages. Item #T3301 - $12.50.
