Fifty-Seven Cent Rate Change Deco-Eagle

This new stamp was the first one to be issued after the September eleventh attack. The first military objective was to secure the skies over our nation, and our armed forces immediately began flying combat patrols to protect our large cities and other possible terrorist targets. This ongoing military operation, which protects America in the air, is called "Noble Eagle."

For my hand painted cachet, I chose to portray an aggressive, defiant, and aroused eagle. It is the symbol of a country that will never forget how thousands of innocent and peaceful fellow citizens were taken from their families and country. As we have in the past, the United States of America will rise to meet the challenge and do what has to be done. It will be a long, hard struggle, but with all of us pulling together, in the end the Noble Eagle will endure. Collins #U3401 - $12.50.
