George Washington

Collins Cover Announcement

George Washongton

A pair of the new twenty-cent Washington stamps franks this First Day Cover. The hand painted cachet is based on a famous painting of our first president. It depicts him in the pre-Revolutionary War period when he served as a colonel in the Virginia forces that fought in the French and Indian War. You may note that the portrait lacks a little of the more precise details that are the norm in my cachets, but that is by design as I wanted to remain true to the original reference source. As a result, this cover turned out to be a very nice piece as it reflects the artistic style during that period of our history. In a way of background, I've added the Washington family estate at Mount Vernon.

Aside from Collins collectors, this FDC will be sought by Presidential, Military, and George Washington topicalists. I'm happy to offer "Colonel Washington" for your collection. Item #V3301 $12.25.
