Fire Engine

This new stamp pictures a cast-iron, red steam engine fire pumper. It has a gold eagle perched on the center dome, and two firemen figures are included. It was made by the Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania around 1925. The company was founded in 1894 and within four decades became the world's largest manufacturer of cast-iron toys.

For my hand painted cachet, I chose to show an even earlier antique toy_ A team of horses pulls a pumper from a toy fire house. A fireman sits in the seat to drive the team. The details in this action scene are very nice, and you will enjoy having it in your collection. Now available is my fire engine Antique Toy UDC, featuring the steam engine fire pumper stamp and the hand painted cachet with the horse-drawn fire pumper emerging from the old-time firehouse. This will be a "hot" collectible to own. Collins #Q3502 - $12.25.
