American Bats

Leaf-Nosed Bat

Collins Cover Announcement

American Bats

Leaf-Nosed Bat

This is one of the most maneuverable fliers using short, broad wings. As with the pallid, the leaf-nosed bat captures its prey of crickets, grasshoppers, beetles, and moths straight from the ground — rather than in flight. They are found in the Sonoran and Mojave Desert regions, as well as in the southern parts of California, Arizona, and Nevada.

Several times each year, my finished cachets exceed expectations. This is the case with the American Bat cachets. As you can see from the enclosed illustrations, the cachets are very dramatic, but what really make them so special are the realistic colors that only hand painting can achieve. In the years ahead, these FDCs will be actively sought. Don't miss them. Pallid Bat — Coffins 4F3602. Leaf-Nosed Bat — Collins /4'3604. Priced at $12.25 each.
