Longleaf Pine Forest

Gray Fox/Gopher Tortoise

If you look at the new stamp on this cover, you will be surprised at how much red fur there is on a gray fox. This occurrence is even more pronounced on the young of the species. My hand painted cachet depicts two gray (with an abundance of red) fox kits curiously confronting a gopher tortoise. It's one of those random woodland meetings that provide a very nice scene to convey on cachet art.

Sunshine reflects off the turtle's shell giving it a fairly bright appearance. The strong morning light also provides a crisp look to the kits as well as their surroundings, including fallen log, wispy grasses, and dawn sky. It's a nice addition to the Longleaf Pine Forest series.

I'm pleased to present Gray Fox/Gopher Tortoise. Collins #M3505 - $12.25.
