Longleaf Pine Forest

Bachman’s Sparrow

Collins Cover Announcement

Longleaf Pine Forest

Bachman's Sparrow

This new stamp is one I really like due to the crispness and simplicity of its design. The attractive sparrow with fine line detail is shown perched on a small pine branch chirping in the morning mist. The mottled green/gray background certainly is a nice portrayal of the dense pine forest habitat at break of day.

My hand painted cachet shows a pair of the diminutive sparrows — one serenading the other. In this case, although one is perched on a limb of pine, I chose to introduce a flowering plant with broad leaves and a tiny cluster of berries. Call it a change of pace, and I think the scene works well. Add a background of blended watercolors, and you have the next cover in this interesting Longleaf Pine Forest set. I'm pleased to present the Bachman's Sparrow. Collins #M3501 - $12.25.
