Longleaf Pine Forest

Eastern Towhee

This is the tenth and final cover in the "Longleaf Pine Forest" habitat series. To end this set, I'm showing an Eastern Towhee drinking from a secluded waterhole deep in the forest. A curious frog peeks out from its hiding place as the wary bird drinks. Two varieties of wildflowers bring splashes of color to the water's edge. Realism is the term best used to describe the effort achieved by blending watercolors in natural combinations. I'm pleased to complete this series with one of the birds of the Longleaf Pine Forest — the Eastern Towhee. Collins 043504 - $12.25
