Collins Cover Announcement 

This marks the third year of the anticipated four-year program of new Disney stamps. This year the theme is "Romance." To start off, I'm happy to announce the first three covers including a special limited-edition subscriber-only FDC.

Lady and the Tramp was a favorite tale, and my hand painted cachet shows the two famous dogs in fine fashion. As with all of my covers for the Disney stamps, the artwork is a reflection of the creative talents of Walt Disney and the folks at Disney Studios. The Cinderella cachet shows her admiring the glass slipper that fits perfectly. Her little mice friends look on approvingly. In the distance, the castle of the prince can be seen. The watercolors are bright and vivid, and you'll love adding these First Day Covers to your collection.

The third cover is special, indeed. For the benefit of new subscribers, let me explain that for quite a while now, I've been producing a couple of covers per year just for subscribers such as yourself. No one else can purchase these limited cachets, and subscribers cannot obtain extras. As you can imagine, this makes for a very prime group of Collins FDC collectibles.

This cachet shows Cinderella dancing at the fancy ball with the handsome prince. As in past years, I have added a special touch exclusive to Collins covers. The Tinker Bell image from the pane selvage has been cut out and affixed to the envelope. The First Day of Issue bullseye postmark from Orlando, Florida ties both the new Cinderella stamp and Tinker Bell to the cover. It's a nice extra touch — just for Collins subscribers.

Soon I'll be offering the other new Disney stamps for this year — Mickey and Minnie on one plus Beauty and the Beast on the other. As for now, it's Cinderella and Glass Slipper (Collins #15002); Lady and the Tramp (Collins #I5004); and subscriber-only limited-edition Cinderella and Prince Charming (Collins #I5005).

It's a pleasure and an honor to once again pay tribute to the great artists at Disney by offering the First Day Covers for the new 2006 stamps. As always, this mini-set of four is an issue that many of you have been waiting for, and I would suggest that you get your order in promptly to protect against a quick sell-out.

This year I will be shipping and invoicing for the set of four at one cover per month. This allows just enough time for hand painting and, at the same time, makes them fit more easily into everyone's hobby budget. Some collectors prefer to pay up front for the entire set, and this is fine, but I'll still only be able to ship monthly as painting is completed.

The four stamps this year are all Disney classics, and my individually hand painted cachets bring these childhood favorites to life. Cinderella finds the glass slipper to be a perfect fit as the castle of Prince Charming is seen in the distance. The adventurous and self-confident Tramp has an encounter with the prim and proper Lady. Beauty comforts the gentle but uncomely beast unaware that his destiny is to become a handsome prince. And, the grand and ageless Disney mouse makes his appearance as Mickey calls on Minnie with a modest bouquet of flowers hidden behind his back.

Bright and vibrant is how I would describe the watercolors that are applied ever so carefully by numerous brush strokes on each and every cachet. These covers are destined to become treasures of the hobby, and now is the time to secure them for your collection before I sell out. I will send them at one per month starting with Cinderella as she admires the glass slipper in the presence of her little mice friends.
