Children’s Book Animals

Maisy by Lucy Cousins

Collins Cover Announcement

Favorite Children's Book Animals

Maisy

Collector feedback has been very positive on my hand painted cachets. It seems that my decision to use real animals to'complement their children's book animal counterparts was a good way to approach this enjoyable project.

The new stamp features the white mouse "Maisy." My watercolored cachet shows a trio of these cute creatures on a countertop. Two sit by freshly cut rosebuds while the third peers out from the circular confines of a decorative pencil holder mug. The three mice are really quite appealing with their long tails, pink eyes, and soft white fur. As with all of the cachets in this series, the scene is framed by a border which is also hand painted.

The wonderful pictorial First Day cancel ties the new stamp to the envelope. I'm pleased to announce the next cover in this distinctive series of Collins cachets — Maisy. Collins #N4004 — $13.25.
