Curious George

The stamp depicts George with a small bunny in the palm of his hand. Naturally, he's curious about this furry bundle of cuddly life. It's tied to the envelope with the great storybook pictorial cancel.

My hand painted cachet builds on the stamp theme as an inquisitive chimpanzee encounters a real-life rabbit. The eye contact between the animals telegraphs to each other that there is nothing to fear. Rather, it is the curiosity that is George's namesake that rivets the chimps' attention on the docile hare.

The artistic quality of this cachet is brought out in the illustration below. It's very appealing and, in my opinion, will become the most sought-after First Day Cover of any produced for the Curious George stamp. The watercolors serve to enhance the artwork even more as the colors bring the heartwarming scene to life. A truly "feel-good" cachet as are the others in this series, and I'm pleased to offer Curious George and friend —
