Children’s Book Animals

Frederick ', by Leo Lionn

Collins Cover Announcement

Favorite Children's Book Animals

Frederick

This new stamp features the cute little mouse that young children love in their story books. With big ears, big eyes, and a long tail as his main characteristics, Frederick delights the young at heart with his frivolous antics. The new stamp is tied to the cover with the wonderful first day a issue pictorial postmark.

My hand painted cachet is a lovely rendition of a real-life Frederick munching happily on an ear of corn. Nearby, a friend enjoys the sweet flavor of a fresh, tree-ripened apple. You will love the artistic detail in this natural-looking cachet with the delicate front paws holding the solitary kernel, the laidback ears and long curved tail, and the realistic éyes that actually give this cachet that personal appeal that bridges the gap from the real Frederick to the fictional character on the stamp. When you add in the watercolors that provide such realism to the field mice and the food that they are enjoying, you have a First Day Cover that is just perfect for this new stamp. I'm pleased to offer the next one in my Favorite Children's Book Animals series — Frederick.  Collins #N4008 - $13.25
