Year of the Ox

Once again, the subject of my hand painted cachet for this series is done in a bold and finely detailed fouriat. From the textured horns to the expressive eye, to the flowing hair to the jutting nostrils and mouth, the Collins ox dominates the cover and, at once, captures the attention. As with my other cachets for these stamps, I've added delicate and colorful plants and the striking oriental caricature that stands for ox. Taking its place in this close-up look at the creatures of the oriental calendar is the Year of the Ox. Collins #R4002 — $13.25.
