2006 Lunar New Year Stamps

Year of the Hare

I'm pleased to announce that this cover will complete the 2006 New Year set of twelve. An alert hare sits perfectly still partially hidden among the long-bladed grasses of a woodland meadow. The three artistic elements that I have used throughout this set are, of course, present in this final hand painted cachet. First and foremost, the rabbit is shown in a close-up finely-detailed foHnat. Second, there are diminutive wildflowers growing with the grass which continues the floral presence as in my other New Year covers. Finally, the large character that stands for "hare" is prominently displayed and painted.

This is a lovely cachet to complete the set_ Year of the Hare — Collins #R4004 — $13.25.
