It is my opinion that this series of Collins cachets will contend for the Planty Award for Best Hand Painted Set of 2007. I was taken by the simple beauty of the stamps and decided to really make the First Day Covers for them something special. For starters, I wanted to enhance the brightly colored flowers themselves. Thus, below the stamp and postmark you'll find a large hand painted rendition of the bloom on the stamp. The varied natural colors are superb, and you'll love them. However, the greatest appeal of these cachets is the appearance of the adorable young animals which complement the flower on each cachet. For the first one, you'll receive a cute little black bear cub rolling in a grassy meadow. His rich black fur contrasts beautifully with the bright red petals of the gerbera daisy.
