This scarce cachet variety is a "subscriber-only edition." It also was a Planty Award winner in the National Cachetmakers Contest. The very attractive triangle stamp showing the three ships of the explorers' fleet is in the upper right-hand corner and is tied to the envelope with a small bullseye Jamestown, Virginia day of issue postmark. The open Atlantic Ocean is the hand painted cachet's locale. Across the gentle rolling surface sail the expeditions' three ships: Susan Constant; Godspeed; and, Discovery. This marks the first time this cover is offered in my mail sales. As the sails are filled with air from a favorable wind, the three ships head west where America awaits. It's an eye-catcher!
