This cover features the classic, fun-filled Disney adventure entitled "101 Dalmatians. " This distinctively spotted dog is a breed that is poised, alert, strong, muscular, and active. It is not shy and is very intelligent. A Dalmatian is also friendly, fast, and has great endurance. With all of these wonderful attributes, it's no wonder that the creative folks at Disney wanted to feature them in a story. The tale that emerged has become a childhood favorite, and I'm glad to pay tribute to it with my individually hand painted cachet.

The scene is a stable where the reliable old workhorse has his stall. A proud papa Dalmatian oversees part of his recent litter — four rambunctious small puppies. It's a cute scene right down to the kitten atop the horse's back showing indifference to the hectic scene by looking away. The draft horse, on the other hand, is taking it all in and has a look of bewilderment as he surveys the scampering pups. The new stamp conveys a nice continuity to the scene as it shows a joyful puppy perched playfully on its father's head.
