The hand painted cachet on this cover is one of my personal favorites. In his book "Hawaii," Michener traces the four main ethnic groups that discovered and developed the islands. This paradise was first ,(\ , ''\'ç discovered by the Polynesians via canoes from the distant South Pacific, then the English in the years after Captain Cook's discovery. From America came the whalers and the missionaries. Then the Chinese and Japanese came to labor in the fields but soon after arrival became successful merchants.

Each of these groups are represented in the balanced and artistic cachet. This cover was produced only for my subscribers, and you won't see it available for sale often. A miniature work of art.
