Flags of Our Nation

Individually hand painted First Day Covers with

cachets dedicated to the uniqueness of each state.

Plus...for the first time in the history of our hobby,

I'm pleased to present each of the major breeds

of dogs in one magnificent set — a Collins exclusive.

When this beautiful flag set was announced, I thought long and hard about how I could make it distinct and different from any other cachetmaker. At the same time, I wanted to ensure that each cover would reflect the individuality of each of our diverse states. What eventually evolved was thinking "out of the box" and what resulted was as American as apple pie. Because all of the dogs of America had never been featured on a set of U.S. stamps, and because all of the breeds had never been used on a set of First Day Covers by any cachetmaker, I decided that combining our wonderful and varied dogs with our incredible distinctive states would be a philatelic home run. I was right!

Just look at the beautiful enclosed copies of some of the covers in this set. Gorgeous watercolor art! Please remember that the color quality of the copies is pretty good, but the small text appears fuzzy (on the actual covers it is crisp and clear) and, of course, the actual magnificent watercolors used on each and every cachet cannot be captured in a copy. Also, the actual covers are the standard size — making them even more awesome than the smaller enclosed photos.

Down the road, this will become one of the most coveted and sought-after sets of First Day Covers ever produced. Dog lovers will consider this a treasure of the hobby, and many will pursue it on the open market. And the state-related cachets make it a wonderful series that could be a definition for the term "Americana." You will love it!

Only a few sets remain available. Once I'm sold out, they will only be obtainable on the open market where supply and demand is sure to be a factor. The shipment and invoicing of one cover per month makes this blockbuster set affordable for any hobby budget. If you missed signing up for it originally, or if you are a relatively new Collins collector, now is your opportunity. It will be your final chance, so please respond promptly. Sets will be assigned on a first-come/first-served basis. Thanks.

State, Federal and Territory Flag Stamps

This is one of the finest hand painted First Day Cover sets that I have ever produced. Each of the states and several U.S. territories are represented with beautiful cachets uniquely created just for them. And Old Glory is not forgotten as purple mountain majesties and amber waves of grain * the Liberty Bell * the Navy's Submarine Base at New London, CT * and the Statue of Liberty are all represented with the Stars and Stripes stamps.

Just to mention a few of my cachets for the various states will give you an indication as to how spectacular this individually hand painted set is. A Native totem pole and dog sled for Alaska * The Grand Canyon for Arizona * The mighty Rockies for Colorado * Mystic Seaport (with lighthouse) for Connecticut * A hula dancer with grass skirt for Hawaii * A vintage horse-drawn fire engine for Illinois and a modern racecar taking the checkered flag for Indiana * The Kentucky Derby for the Blue Grass State * Babe Ruth for New York and Golfs Masters at Pinehurst for North Carolina * Sioux Indians in North Dakota and cowboys herding horses in Oklahoma * Fort Sumter in South Carolina and the Alamo in Texas * Gathering maple syrup in Vermont and watching leaping salmon in Washington State. Each and every one of our distinctive and different states makes this a magnificent set, and all of the individual cachets are hand painted. It's Superb!

One other feature makes this set the absolute best produced by any cachetmaker. Over the years, a few dog breeds have been recognized with stamps but many have not. As a Collins exclusive, I've added one of the most popular dogs to each cachet, and I must tell you that the resulting set is one you must see to believe.

A Collie (Lassie) in Hollywood, California * A Bernese Mountain dog by towering Colorado peaks * A Bulldog named "UGA" (University of Georgia Mascot) on a college football field * A Dalmatian with the vintage fire wagon * A Cairn Terrier (Toto) with Oz characters in Kansas * A Chesapeake Bay Retriever on the crabbing docks of Baltimore * A Boston Terrier by the Minuteman statue at the Old North Bridge in Massachusetts * A Chihuahua by ancient Native American pueblos in New Mexico * A German Shepherd standing guard at the sub base in New London * A Saint Bernard in the Cascade Mountains or Oregon * A Boxer by the Rocky statue in Philly * A Fox Hound at Mount Vernon in Virginia reminiscent of President Washington's times and the dogs he loved * A Border Collie and his herd of dairy cows in Wisconsin.
