Collins Cover Announcement
Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa of Calcutta, India was internationally known as a humanitarian and advocate for the poor and helpless. At the time of her death in 1997, her missionaries were operating 610 missions in 123 countries. Among her causes were homes and hospices for people with HIV/AIDS, Leprosy, and TB; soup kitchens to feed the world's hungry; orphanages and schools; and family counseling services. In 1979 she won the Nobel Peace Prize.
My individually hand painted cachet shows her holding a child in India. An adage listing the possibilities of life is positioned between the new stamp and the portrait on the cover. I must say that the water coloring of the cachet is a perfect complement to the colors in the stamp, and this Collins is a fine tribute to an amazing human being.
For over 45 years, the woman who Pope John Paul II called the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta tended to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying. And eventually through her schools and counseling services, she opened the possibilities of life to thousands and thousands of people. This cover is dedicated to an unsurpassed humanitarian who served those most in need. Mother Teresa — Collins #A4801 — $14.00.
