Christmas Evergreens

Ponderosa Pine

Collins Cover Announcement

Evergreens - Ponderosa Pine

Ski-Plane

This is the third cover in my mini-set of four for the Evergreen set. I wanted to feature unusual and interesting modes of transportation, and the two previously offered depicted the John Bull, a historic locomotive, and a trio of brightly colored ice boats sailing over a frozen lake. Now I'm pleased to announce a distinctive ski-plane skimming in for a landing on a remote snow-covered airstrip. A mountainous western vista provides the winter setting for this individually hand painted cachet. The modified Piper Cub is framed by ponderosa pine upon which a Clark's nutcracker (named for the famous explorer) is perched.

As with the previous two, this is an excellent First Day Cover, and I'm very gratified as to how this set has turned out. You will be most happy to have them in your collection. I'm delighted to offer the Ponderosa Pine Evergreen cover with landing ski-plane. Collins #C4801 at $14.00.
