Celebrity Chefs
Felipe Rojas Lombardi
Cover Announcement
Felipe was born in Peru and eventually became a celebrated chef in New York City. His goal was to bring food with a Latin, Caribbean, and Spanish flair to Norlh America. At one point he appeared on the Television series 'New York's Master Chefs" and became an overnight sensation. Lombardi spoke of his culinary creativity and how it had been influenced in his family's kitchen as a youth. There, Peruvian, Chilean, German, and Italian traditions mingled with Spanish, Afican, and Caribbean influences.
This master chef is credited with introduciug small-plate tapas to American restaurants. Tapas are appetizers or snecks in Spanish cuisine and can be served hot or cold. Varieties are almost limitless and can range from dishes featuring olive and cheese combinations to battered seafood. Several tapas can be combined to make a full meal.
My individually hand painted cachet shows Felipe surrounded by some of his favorite ingredients and specialties including tapas at the lower right, paella at the upper right, and Dominican squash and orange soup on the table. It truly captures the essence of the man.
This set will be concluding soon with the final cover honoring famous American chef Julia Child who was known for her French cooking and long-running television program. Make sure you have them all because I think as time goes on a dedicated group of topical collectors will be searching for them. The tapas champion - Chef Felipe Rojas Lombardi is now ready. Collins # X5305 - $15.00.
