This is the second cover in my limited-edition set of four produced only for my subscribers. They are the only Collins covers that actually depict Batman in each of the four cachets. Also making an appearance on this cover is the second of the round Bat-Signal stamps. Remember that to obtain this one stamp it was necessary to purchase an entire sheet of 20 stamps, so you can be sure that first day covers by any cachetmaker will be few and far between. A set of all four Bat-Signal stamps on Collins cachets will become a hobby treasure.

The individually hand painted Silver-Age Batman with the corresponding circular Bat-Signal stamp is now ready. Collins #Z5302.

Lot 34 Z5301 — Batman — The Golden Age of Comics — 10/9/14

This very dynamic and eye-opening cover was produced for Subscribers-Only and represents the "Golden Age of Comics." The Sub-Only covers were the only Collins covers that actually show Batman in the cachets. (My regular covers for this issue were different versions of the Batmobile, but for Batman himself, these limited covers were it.) On each sheet of Batman stamps that the Postal Service sold, there was a single stamp for four different circular bat-signals. In other words, a sheet of 20 stamps had to be purchased to obtain the single round stamp that is used on this cover. As you can imagine, not many first day covers exist with these interesting stamps, but they do exist on the Collins covers. It adds a very nice philatelic aspect and makes them very desirable in the hobby. This is a rare opportunity to acquire the very unique stamp on a dynamic and brightly colored hand painted Collins cover. First time offered in one of my mail sales.
