This is the third cachet in this very special Batman set being produced just for my subscribers. Each image in this hand painted series is a different close-up rendition of Batman shown against a bright background of varying colors. They are very distinctive and, because they are so limited, will be highly sought within the hobby.

What makes this cover (and all others in the set) extra special is that the first day of issue stamp is one of the scarce round Bat-Signal designs that were only available as a single stamp in a sheet of twenty. This means that relatively few first days will exist with these circular stamps, but you will have the complete set of four on this series of covers. The fourth and final one will be offered soon. Summer 2025 Mail Sale Commentary 

Lot 34 Z5301 — Batman — The Golden Age of Comics — 10/9/14

This very dynamic and eye-opening cover was produced for Subscribers-Only and represents the "Golden Age of Comics." The Sub-Only covers were the only Collins covers that actually show Batman in the cachets. (My regular covers for this issue were different versions of the Batmobile, but for Batman himself, these limited covers were it.) On each sheet of Batman stamps that the Postal Service sold, there was a single stamp for four different circular bat-signals. In other words, a sheet of 20 stamps had to be purchased to obtain the single round stamp that is used on this cover. As you can imagine, not many first day covers exist with these interesting stamps, but they do exist on the Collins covers. It adds a very nice philatelic aspect and makes them very desirable in the hobby. This is a rare opportunity to acquire the very unique stamp on a dynamic and brightly colored hand painted Collins cover. First time offered in one of my mail sales.
