The monkey is the ninth of twelve Zodiac animals signs associated with the Chinese Lunar Calendar. For my individually hand painted cachets, I chose the diminutive and cute squirel monkey. They live in the tropical forests of Central and South America high in the canopy layer of the trees. Their markings are very distinctive, especially the russet orange back and legs and the white face. The detailed jungle backdrop is perfect and coordinates nicely with the new stamp.
