Dragons

Orange Dragon & Pagoda

Cover Announcement

Dragons have long been associated with Chinese cultures. They were associated with the Emperor of China who, during the lmperial Era, was the only one permitted to have dragons on his personal articles, clothing, and home. Chinese customs such as dragon dancing and dragon boat racing have long been ingrained in the culture. It is the highest ranking creature in the Chinese animal hierarchy. Dragon images can be found on pottery as far back as the Neolithic Period and Bronze Age.

My individually hand painted cachet depicts a dragon with a pagoda close by. The new stamp also has an image of a

pagoda. Of special note is the large head with many distinctive facial features. Even in today's dragon dancing. the head is usually quite large with exaggerated features such as eyes, nostrils, mouth, and teeth. The Collins Chinese Dragon has horns, tusks, fangs. and a mane.

The Pagoda Dragon is now ready. Collins #C5803 - $15.00.
