A highly interesting fact is that the polar bear is classified as a marine mammal because it spends many months of the year at sea. It is the only living mammal with powerful large limbs and feet that aliow them to cover many miles on foot and also run on land. It is the largest member of the bear famiiy, weighing up to 700 pounds.
