Cottontail Rabbit

Further down the road, a covered bridge crosses the stream that brings fresh, clear water to the farm. In the distance an ascending dawn is visible beyond the baren winter forest. The swift current has prevented a total freeze-over, and the partially iced surface presents a nice seasonal visual. A young cottontail rabbit warily takes advantage of the early daylight to nibble on the leaves of hardy plants that penetrate the snow in search of the sun. The lovable bunny, ever on the alert, will soon depart for the safety of its snug burrow.
