Our Lady of Guapulo by Unknown Peruvian Artist

This individually hand painted cachet is a beautiful rendition done in yellows and golds. The new stamp also has a rich golden color. "Our Lady of Guapulo" is a local variaton of the *Virgin of Guapulo" in Extremadura, Spain. The new version was commissioned in Quito, Ecuador in 1584. Three years later it was transferred to a chapel in the nearby village of Guapulo.

Framing the cachet are four floral corners of pink roses. A very visually attractive cover. Collins #B6001 at $16.50.
