Nella Larsen was a writer who is lauded as the premier novelist of the Harlem Renaissance. Her two most notable works were the novels "Quicksand" in 1928 and "Passing" in 1929. Larsen was an important figeure in modernism especialy, in the area of racial identity. Her works have been the subjects of numerous academic studies.
