Gambrel-Roofed Barn – Summer


Cover Announcement 


A burst of sunflowers shouts visually in the foreground. A vintage bi-plane swoops in low as I continue to include a period transportation element to each of my hand painted barn cachets. A hand pump, so colnmon in the first haif of the 1900s, is prominently centered. emphasizing the importance of water as well as sun in agricultural endeavors.


The main subject. however. is the iconic gambrel-roofed barn. This type of roof has two distinct slopes on each side of the roof. It provides a sleek almost simple elegance to the structure. The temt is from aty Norman-Enslish origin. The oldest known gambrel roof in America was on the second hall at Harvard built in 1677.


This mini-set continues with the farm animals' weather vane with the Collins logo. The gambrel-roofed bam in summer is now available. Collins #H6002 at 516.50.
