Milking Devon Cows were flrst brought to America by the Pilgrims is 1613, the first British cow breed to be transported to the Americas. These stunning animals are redish-brown with black-tipped white horns. They are known for their adaptability and ability to thrive in harsh environments. These cows are intelligent animals and have one of the greatest longevities of any breed. They are quite rare and are currently on the Livestock Conservancy critical list.


My hand painted cachet shows a trio of Milking Cows, including a calf. standing in a field in rural Iowa. In the background, fall foliage surrounds a large working barn.
