This bird is a breed which descends from the eastern wild turkey and the domestic turkey. It is a historic breed and is named for Narragansett Bay.

The plumage is black, gray, tan. and white. It has a horn-colored beak and bars of white feathers on its wings.

This turkel is prized for its excellent temperament with a calm disposition. They are good egg producers. and their meat is of excellent quality.
