Yogi Berra

New York Yankee Baseball All Star Player

Portrait

Cover Announcement

A hand painted action portrait of Yogi Berra is a wonderfirl portrayal of this beloved baseball player. As a youngster growing up about 50 miles from New York City, I was an avid baseball fan. The New York Giants in the National League was "my team" but the Yankees were so dominant in the 40s and 50s that stars like the affable Yogi were extremely popular.

Yogi played 19 seasons from 1946 to 1963 and was a stalwart catcher behind the plate for the Bronx Bombers. He was an 18-time All-Star and won 10 World Series championships - more than any other player in Major League Baseball history. He is only one of six players to win the American League Most Valuable Player Award three times.

This Collins cover makes a tremendous visual impact. The famous Yankee pinstripes. His arm cocked, ready to hurl one of his noteworthy strong throws. The intensity of his expression. One of the best baseball cachets in the history of Collins. The special postmark adds to the appeal. A replica of Yogi's signature. The name of his team. Cancelled in Little Falls, New Jersey - site of the Yogi Berra Museum. And the new stamp is a beauty.

This Collins will become a gem in the hobby! This cover, in my opinion, is destined to be a rather quick sell-out. Don't miss obtaining one or two for your collection before they are gone. Lawrence Peter Berra is widely regarded as one of the greatest catchers in baseball history. "Yogi" is now ready. Collins #Q6001 at $16.50.
