These aquatic animals subsist on a diet of fish and marine invertebrates. My individally hand painted cachets shows a family of otters at the water's edge at the time of the spring ice break-up. A pair sits on a partially submerged snow-covered log. Another large otter is climbing on a similar log in the foreground. Three young ones pop their heads up in the cold water amid mini-ice floes.
