1990 NEW JERSEY


A secluded beaver pond has a flurry of activity as two woodducks take flight into a rose corored sky. The hand-painted cachet was coordinated with of the color envelope and the design of the stamp.


The First Day cancel was obtained in West Milford which is the town r grew up in and is the namesake for the "MELFORD" Cachets. Note the flight of waterfowl in New Jersey statehood stamp -- the state is known for its excellent coastal wetlands.


Seriar numbers used were 17701 to 18000 excluding 728, 910, 920, 964, 969, 970, 971, 972, 977, and 978.
