1993 PENNSYLVANIA

The distinctive shoveler duck, so named for the shape of the large bill, peers through a vibrant cluster of bIue flag iris. Inspiration for the hand-painted MILFORD cachet was provided by the wildflower stamp affixed to meet the postage requirement. A pictorial cancel showing the slate capital and an outline of the Keystone State was used adding a nice philatelic flavor to the cover. 238 MILFORDS were made for this new $5.50 Pennsylvania Duck stamp picturing a pair of shovelers.
