Wood Ducks by Bruce Miller
Fred's Anecdotal Note
1993 NORTH DAKOTA
A herd of buffalo advances over the crest of a rise and heads toward a water hole. A colorful woodduck senses the impending interruption to his serenity and readies himself for flight as the lead bull approaches. This hand-painted cachet captures the essence of the west, and, in fact, could be a scene from today or tomorrow as opposed to yesteryear since the bison has made a strong comeback.
The new six dollar duck stamp and the wild flax postage stamp are tied to the cover with a Bismark cancel. Serial numbers used were 141591 to 741789 except for 674, 676, 677, 768 and 769.
