This hand-painted MILFORD is an example of the duck philately excellence for which I always strive. Dolphins leap playfully in the deep blue Carolina coastal waters. In the background, the Morris Island Lighthouse stands prominently as a Charleston area landmark. with tilted wings catching the strong sea breeze, a trio of scaup glide low over the ocean's edge.

A fine and unusual double bordered postmark provides the First Day cancel at Columbia's Main Post Office. It ties the new stamp and the attract.ive showy evening primrose wildflower to the cover. There were 200 FDCs produced for this issue.
