Lot 2 H101 — CAPEX Wildlife Souvenir Sheet (6-10-78)

This is the first time that I remember this full sheet with plate number being in one of my mail sales. It has all eight of the CAPEX wildlife stamps (cardinal, mallard duck, Canada goose, blue jay, moose, chipmunk, red fox, and raccoon). It has the large U.S. Postal Station oval pictorial cancel postmarked in Toronto, Canada. It pictures the United States star and Canadian maple leaf. The hand painted cachet features a pair of mallards taking off. Only 157 were produced for this beautiful vintage Collins first day cover. This was only my eighth stamp trip, and my famous "Flying V" cover was created at the same time. A lovely wildlife Collins.
